Addicted to people pleasing
Are you addicted to people pleasing?
Do you care more about what people think about you than what God thinks about you?
I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God. 1 Corinthians 4: 3-5
Knowing that Jesus forgave all your sin past, present and future. Jesus took your judgement. God sees the perfection of Christ living in you. HE sees the reflection of HIMSELF living in you. Paul did not care what people thought about him. He knew ALL HIS sin and judgement was paid on the cross in Christ Jesus.
Can you say you do not care what people think of you? Are you living to please man?
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. Ephesians 5: 8-13
Darkness does not like the light. Let your light so shine before men that they see Christ in you. It is Christ in you which shines. The righteousness, goodness and truth that are in you is Christ. Let it shine to be pleasing to God, not to man.
Are you seeking to please man or God? Walk today filled with the Spirit of God in your life. Let HIS light of righteousness shine bright. May HIS truth and goodness abide with you today.
