Always and Never
Do you remember taking a test in school? The rule was that usually when the words “always” and “never” were part of a question, the answer would be false. Always and never are words that carry certainty. We live in a fallen world. Uncertainty is certain. When sin entered into the world through Adam and Eve in the garden, uncertainty entered into the world. God is contrary to the world of uncertainty and broken promises. God is certain. He is a God of always and never. The fallen and broken world is filled with uncertainty because of the sin nature of man.
God has promised that HE would never leave nor forsake us. God keeps HIS promises. HE said that if you confess your sin, HE is faithful and just and will forgive your sin. HE will purify you of all unrighteousness. HE is a God of reconciliation. HE is a God of redemption and restoration.
Jesus talked about building your house on sand versus rock. When your house is built on sand and the uncertainties of life come, the house will be washed away. When your house is built on the Rock which is Christ, the storms of life come and the house will be shaken but will not fall.
When the house is built on rock the house will always stand. When the house is built on sand, it will never stand through the storms and uncertainties of life. Jesus talked about the peace that HE gives, not the peace that the world gives but a peace that transcends all understanding. This peace will always stand through the uncertainty of this world.
When we put our faith and trust in man, we are certain to be disappointed. When we put our faith and trust in God, HE will never disappoint us. He will always give you what you need, not want you want. HE works all things together for your good to those who love HIM and are called according to HIS PURPOSE.
Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to HIM must believe that HE exists and that HE rewards those who earnestly seek HIM.
