Are you a money changer?

12  Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. A money changer is someone who has allowed the trappings or desires for success to negatively influence his or her business practices or someone who is purely motivated by greed and uses the things of God for personal gain.

The money changers’ motivation was greed. It was all about the money. They were not concerned about serving the people. It was all about the opportunity to make money.

You have assets. These are your skills, gifts and abilities that God has specifically given you. You put these at trade through work and business. Do you look at work as a calling from God? What is your motivation for work and being in business? Is it primarily to earn a living for your family? Is work only about making a living?

Jesus was not against commerce and trading. He was against the money changers taking advantage of people. They used religious ideals to advance their own agenda.

Is your work your career or your calling? How is your work advancing the Kingdom of God?

God has called all of us to tend HIS Garden. HE has called us to take dominion and go into the Promised Land. Whatever you do today, do for the Glory of God. Give thanks for the work that HE has given you. Praise HIM that you have assets that can be used in production to generate income with excellence in the market place. Use your work as a place of WORKSHIP. Worship while you work. Look for opportunities to invest into people’s lives.

People be grateful and thankful for all that the Lord has given you today. Speak with thankfulness as you work and tend the Kingdom of God here on earth as it is in heaven.
