Are You Still Drinking Milk?

Are you still drinking milk?

Paul writes in Galatians, “I want you to know brothers that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.”
I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 1 Corinthians 3:2
In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Hebrews 5:12
When you were a newborn child, you were dependent upon your parents to feed you. If you were not fed, you cried and let your mother and father know it was time to be fed. As you matured, you learned to feed yourself.
And now are you still dependent upon someone to feed you the word of God? Is someone giving you milk once a week for 20 minutes? Do you get thirsty everyday and can’t wait to be fed your milk? And do you get really upset if you are not fed? The best time each week is the 20 minutes of milk. But after you get your milk, you get cranky, irritated and want more milk! However, because you have not learned to feed yourself, you must wait an entire week before you eat again.
When are you going to get off the milk and start on solid foods? This happens when you allow the Spirit of God to teach and guide you through his word. The word of God spoke directly to Paul through revelation from Jesus Christ. This was solid food to Paul.  No man taught him, it was the revelation from Jesus Christ. Jesus gave you his Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to teach you.
If you continue to be dependent on man to teach you about God you will remain on milk the rest of your life. Jesus left a teacher – the Holy Spirit – to bring you into knowledge of God. When you read God’s word, allow the spirit of God to personally speak to you. You will get a WOW! This is the beginning of understanding, and then comes divine revelation. You are now on solid food. You have learned to feed yourself. Worship will be daily and not 20 minutes a week. Your desire will be only for solid food and you will not turn back to milk after you have tasted steak.
