Dearly Loved Children

Dearly Loved Children
1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.Ephesians 5:1-2
Loved is agapētós in greek (a verbal adjective, derived from agápē, “love”) – properly, divinely-loved; beloved (“loved by God”), i.e. personally experiencing God’s “agapē-love.”
Attitude and behavior changes knowing you are a dearly/divinely loved Child. Do you really know how much you are LOVED by your Heavenly Father? You are a “Dearly loved child of God.” Children who are loved act differently than children who have been abandoned, rejected, abused or orphaned.
Those who have been adopted by their Heavenly Father experience an acceptance, peace, contentment, soul-ish healing knowing they are loved.
Those who have received the Father’s love poured out on the cross experience a boldness and confidence in Christ. They know they can enter into God’s presence because of Christ, not their performance or self-effort.
Those who receive God’s love act, imitate and mimic God’s love as dearly loved children. They learn from the father. They give, sacrifice and love as their Heavenly Father gave.
Those filled with God’s love are able to forgive, edify others, give grace, show grace and live grace.
Those who have received God’s love radiate the Glory of God. They shine from inside out. They are secure in their FATHER’S love. They are sealed with the Holy Spirit. They know that all their sins have been forgiven.
Those who are loved by their Father speak with a confidence and a boldness about their Daddy. They are not afraid. Their speech is edifying, filled with grace and uplifting.
Loved is past tense because of what Jesus did, not anything you have done. The Father’s love is unconditional based upon Jesus’ obedience taking the curse, sin, shame, guilt and condemnation of all mankind on the cross. Death has been defeated through the resurrected Christ.
10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.1 John 4:10
