Empty Pockets

Empty Pockets

When does repentance happen? Repentance happens when your pockets are empty and you are in need. Look at the prodigal son as an example of repentance.

13″Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.”

The world’s system promises much but delivers very little. It promises freedom but gives you bondage and addiction. The world’s system promises you will be in control but gives you broken relationships and empty living.

The Prodigal Son wanted freedom. He wanted to be in control. He wanted to be away from any authority.

We are all prodigals wanting our own ways. We are born with a sin nature. We want to be in control. We don’t want to be under authority. It is not until we are in need and have empty pockets do we realize the need for a savior. As long as you have money to be dependent upon, you are not in need.

As long as you look to money instead of God as your bailout solution you will be empty as a nation, Church, community, business, family and individual. Empty pockets can cause some of the greatest changes in your life.

You have to be emotionally empty, totally out of gas, totally hungry, totally thirsty, totally in need to want to change and go home. Your home is in heaven with Jesus Christ. You are not a citizen of this country. You have been redeemed from your selfish wandering by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. You have been forgiven of your sin. You are welcomed home by God into HIS everlasting arms. He loved the world so much HE gave HIMSELF for the world to redeem the world.

The sacrifice which pleases God is empty pockets in total need of a Savior. God wants a broken and contrite heart willing to change and come under HIS authority as the creator, redeemer and sustainer of life. HE came so you can have abundant life. Come home into the everlasting arms of the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDs today. Walk today in the power and strength of the resurrected Christ, your savior, redeemer and friend.
