Freed But Not Free
Freed But Not Free
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. Romans 6:7
Imagine being sent to prison because you were found guilty of a crime. Then later in prison you are told you are free. You are told that your records of the crime have been destroyed. The door to your prison cell is unlocked and you can walk out of prison totally free with no record of your crime.
Are you freed but not free?
Are you still sitting in prison with the cell door unlocked, not believing that your record has been wiped clean? Your job is to stand up, open the cell door and walk out of the prison as a freed person with no charges against you. All the charges have been destroyed. You have been freed and now you are free.
Your old man, your old nature, your old spirit is dead and gone. Your old man is a sin nature. This sin nature is destroyed and all the records are destroyed. Your new nature is alive in Christ Jesus and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Do you still not believe that Jesus Christ died for all of your sin? HE destroyed the records of your old nature, your old self. HE exchanged your old, dead spirit of sin for HIS ALIVE SPIRIT NATURE. Christ Jesus is living in you and you in HIM. You are freed and free from sin which is dead. The Spirit of God in you is Righteous, Holy and Pure with no fear, defeat, shame, guilt, regret or sin.
You are born again not physically, mentally or emotionally but Spiritually. You are freed of all sin. You have been immersed in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and raised from the dead in the newness and freedom of LIFE in Christ Jesus.
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
Because your records have been destroyed, this freedom is not a license to sin. You have a new identity in Christ Jesus. Your desire is to renew those parts of you which have not been born again: your thoughts, mind, feelings, emotions and body. Your job is to get up and walk in the Spirit and boldness of God’s Promises found in HIS WORD, renewing your mind, feelings and emotions. The old spirit, self, is destroyed and dead. The new born-again Spirit of Christ living in you is filled with Wisdom, Power, Love, Joy and Peace.
You are Freed and Free in Christ Jesus.
