I am independent

Are you seeking independence? Are you seeking your own power and might? What are you thinking and believing when you think you want to be independent?

Satan uses his appeal to be independent by luring you to other gods of selfish gratification and to become self-focused. “If I had more stuff then I could be like god and then I could be more powerful and have more influence. People will respect me and worship me because of my position, power and greatness.”

The world’s economic system glorifies man, money, beauty and power. God’s Kingdom recognizes that HE is the Creator of all and is all powerful.

It is toxic thinking to desire independence from God. God loves you. All power and authority comes from God, not man. We were made to love, depend and trust God. HIS power, love and sound mind is in you for the purpose of building HIS KINGDOM, not yours.

17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. Ephesians 1:12-21

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strenghten you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the full measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and our Lord Jesus Christ throughout generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

The power of God in you is greater than seeking your independence from.
