Jesus Christ is a threat to the Government
Jesus Christ is a threat to the government of this world.
Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, put their faith in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin.
“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many miraculous signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place (control) and our nation (power).” John 11:45-48
The world’s government system believes government is better than God. Government wants followers of its system and is threatened by anything other. Jesus Christ is always a threat to this system. Jesus had just raised Lazarus from the dead. Lazarus had been dead for four days. Jesus did this so you would see the glory of God. Jesus performed all of HIS miracles so we could see HIS GLORY.
Jesus was a threat to the rulers and government. As people were believing and trusting Jesus, they began following him. This was a threat to the power and control of man’s government. The Kingdom of God has and always will be a threat to the kingdom of man (kingdom of self). Man because of his sinful nature wants to rule over and control other men. Man’s sinful rebellious nature does not want to submit to the fullness of God’s majesty, authority and rule of all mankind.
Just like Jesus, as a believer you are a threat to others around you. There will be those who are seeking to know God’s Word and have a thirst to know HIM. There will be those who see the gentleness, peace, love, joy and contentment in your life. This is the fruit of God’s grace working in you. Conversely, there are those who are threatened by God’s truth because it causes them to lose their power and control. They must repent and submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as King. They have to bow down and give up their throne to the Kingdom of God. They have to surrender themselves in forgiveness and repentance for their pride and arrogance. They have to admit they have been defeated of their pride and arrogance. They have been conquered of their self-righteous ways. The kingdom of self has been defeated and the Kingdom of God rules.
Jesus be the Lord of my life today in new ways. Glorify YOURSELF and live YOUR life in me today. Thank you for YOUR grace that I am a dearly loved child of YOURS.
