103 How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:103-105 AMP
When you get out of bed in the middle of the night, do you turn on the lamp to give you light? You are more likely to stumble or fall walking in the darkness without a lamp to light your way.
Here is a definition of a “lamp.” It is a container for a flammable liquid, such as oil, which is burned at a wick as a means of illumination. It is a source of intellectual or spiritual illumination.
The lamp brings the light. God’s Word is the Container – the Lamp – which brings illumination, discernment, understanding, knowledge and the wisdom God.
The darkness brings fear, worry and anxiety. The enemy of God loves for you to live in darkness. The enemy does not want you to turn on the light switch of the Lamp (the Word of God) to get light. He wants you to stay in the darkness of your own mind. The enemy came to kill, steal and destroy.
The darkness wants you to doubt God’s Word. You don’t need the lamp to see. You can walk in the darkness without light. Your own intellect and reasoning is all you need. If you turn on the light you might see something you don’t like so rather stay in the pain of sickness, fear, regret, worry, blame and shame. Darkness wants you to stay in the prison of your self-pity. Darkness says you will always be this way. You cannot get out of the prison of your depression or sickness.
The Lamp, the Word of God, brings the light of the Gift of Righteousness which you have in Christ Jesus. You can walk without worry of falling, fear, regret, shame, guilt, sickness, depression and condemnation.
God loves you and made you complete in Christ Jesus.
Jesus destroyed the works of the enemy. Jesus defeated sin, death, disease and sickness on the cross with HIS BLOOD. You are healed, restored and complete in Christ Jesus. All of this was done by Jesus Christ. Turn on the Lamp, the Word of God, to receive the light showing the way to freedom and victory in Christ Jesus. Light removes darkness. Jesus is the light of the World.
God’s Word – the Lamp – is sweeter than honey.
