The Mammon Monster is a personalized false god which is speaking to you each day. The Mammon Monster is displayed in commercials and advertisements. The Mammon Monster appeals to the cravings of your flesh through sexual desires and physical appearance. The Mammon Monster appeals to your discontent through the lust of your eye so that you are dissatisfied with your life. The Mammon Monster puts the desire for more in your mind. More, more, more, more, you have to have more.
You love the Mammon Monster so much that you boast and are proud of your stuff. You boast about the Mammon Monster through what you have gained and accomplished.
The Mammon Monster is never content. He wants you to desire him and worship him. He wants you to believe that your possessions and stuff will satisfy and meet your deepest needs. This false god, the Mammon Monster, becomes a religious activity of seeking pleasure through wealth worship. The false god teaches that godliness (religious activity) is a means to gain.
The Mammon Monster wants you to seek this world’s satisfaction rather than heavenly gain.
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21
No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money” (Gold, wealth, mammon). Luke 16:13
Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] Hebrews 13:5
