Money versus Righteousness

Money versus Righteousness

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. – 1 Timothy 6:6-9
Better a little with righteousness than much gainwith injustice.
Which is better – that our Nation be a great economic power or have righteousness? Proverbs 16:8
We are plagued with a life struggle between power and riches. Which do you want – economic power at the sacrifice of righteousness, or righteousness alone?  All power comes from the Creator God. God is righteous and holy. He wants you and nations to seek Him before all other things, idols or desires. Our nations, businesses and families are suffering the consequence of making economic decisions a priority over seeking God with all of our heart. Is economics driving all of your decisions? Is price the key indicator for making a purchase?
When economics and money drive a nation more than its moral fabric the nation and its people suffer the consequence. These actions come from flawed thinking – that money is the solution to all of life’s problems. When you place money as a priority over the Spirit of God, all suffer the consequence.
How do you make your daily decisions? Are these based upon inquiring of God? Are they based upon a sound biblical knowledge? Are you seeking the economic benefit more than love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness and self control?
Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
