New Wine Into Your Heart

Jesus tells this parable: “No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on an old one. If he does, he will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”

Are you comfortable in your thinking that the old wine is better? Are you living with bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred, envy, shame, guilt and condemnation with a hard heart toward the new wine?

A hard heart represents the old wineskins. Even putting a religious patch on the old heart will not make a new heart. Your heart can get hardened through religious activity. Going to Church helps change the heart but acts like a patch on an old hard heart. Reading your bible and holding daily devotions helps put a patch on the old heart. God’s SPIRIT through the renewing of your mind, will and emotions will soften the hardened old heart. The Word of God is the seed which has the POWER to penetrate the soil of the heart. HE only can work with a HEART which is willing to change. HE wants a humble heart which is ready to receive HIS WORD’s of Love and Life. HE has no use for religious people who are not putting into practice HIS LAW of LOVE and FORGIVENESS. HE can only use you if your heart (mind, will and emotions) have been totally reformed, regenerated, transformed and changed by the indwelling Holy Spirit into the likeness and image of God as a Son and Daughter of God.

Jesus is the NEW WINE which HE wants to pour into the new wineskin of your repentant heart. HE wants to give you a new heart, one which is not filled with bitterness, resentfulness, unforgiveness, shame, guilt and condemnation.

Is your heart filled with anger and unforgiveness? This may be a symptom of an old wineskin. God cannot pour new wine into an old heart that has not changed.

As you get older, the heart can resist the NEW WINE and become religious versus loving the Lord with all of your heart.

Are you drinking religion or the victorious, redeemed, abundant life found in Christ Jesus? How are you doing in allowing the NEW WINE into your heart?

Lord I surrender my rights, my will, my emotions, my body, my feelings and all my control to you today. I repent for my desire to trust in my own understanding and knowledge. I repent for those that I hold bitterness and unforgiveness. I repent of having wrong attitudes and thoughts and renounce them and ask your forgiveness. I loose the old wine skin pattern of thinking, desires, belief, habits and behavior and bind myself to the attitudes and patterns of Jesus Christ.

Lord I want ALL you have for me. Fill me with your Holy Spirit of love, peace and forgiveness.
