Peace Shalom

Peace Shalom

Jesus, as he is preparing to leave this world, says, “27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:26 NIV

What does Shalom mean?

According to Strong’s Concordance, Shalom means completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. Shalom comes from the root verb shalom, meaning to be complete, perfect and full. In modern Hebrew the obviously related word Shelem means to pay for, and Shulam means to be fully paid.

A Gift or inheritance needs to be received. A gift or inheritance which is not received has no value. Jesus, in his final farewell, is telling of HIS gift and INHERITANCE to you. HE is giving you HIS SHALOM.

I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:26 NLT

The peace which the world offers is an illusion. My PEACE, the SHALOM, which Christ gives, is the complete redemptive work on the cross – HIS wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, and the absence of agitation or discord.

Jesus paid for your Shalom on the cross. You have been made RIGHTEOUS, completely restored in Christ, not by anything you did but by the ONE JESUS CHRIST. Sin came in through one man, Adam, which led to death, and through one man’s obedience to God came Righteousness.

18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. Romans 5:18-19 AMP

Receive the Gift of Shalom. You are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
