Posture of Receiving

Are you working to receive blessings or are you sitting still, at the Lord’s feet, listening, being taught, receiving the blessing so that you can go serve and work?

38 As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. 39 Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. 40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”

41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42 NLT

Martha was working to serve Jesus which was customary with a house guest, while Mary was sitting at the Lord’s feet listening, being taught to gain understanding. Mary’s heart was receiving from the Lord. Mary discovered the secret supply of receiving from the Lord.

The Lord wants to give you all. The Lord wants you to receive as HE gives to HIS children. The Lord is a good God. HE wants to bless you. HE came to give and supply, not to demand from you.

You do not have to work to receive. HE wants you to sit down and receive from HIM. HE wants you to listen to HIM. You cannot listen when you are laboring, worrying and anxious.

The Lord wants to supply all HIS Blessings to you. HE is the supply system. HE is a God of abundance, not scarcity. HIS love and grace endure forever. HE has forgiven you and wants you to sit and receive from HIM.

As HE supplied the daily manna in the wilderness, HE supplies for all your daily needs.

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:31-34 NKJ

Enter into a posture of sitting and receiving from the Lord. HE has promised to supply for all your needs.
