Restored with No Regret

□ Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:10 NIV

There is a big difference between Godly sorrow and worldly sorrow.

Godly sorrow has no regret and leads to restoration, wholeness, deliverance from danger and the provision of safety. Godly sorrow leads to healing, cured, get well, made well, preserved and saved. Godly sorrow leads to making you well, healing and restoring you to health.

Here is the New Living Translation of 2 Corinthians 7:10

□ For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

There are four Greek words in both these translations which bring the Word of God alive and need to understand. These words are Sorrow, Repentance, Salvation and Death found in 2 Corinthians 7:10.

Sorrow in Greek (lype) means distress, vexation, physical or emotional pain, heavy, heart-sorrow grief that brings a person down.

Repentance in Greek (metanoia) means a change of mind, change the inner man.

Salvation in Greek (sozo) means delivered out of danger and into safety; used principally of God rescuing believers from the penalty and power of sin and into HIS provisions (safety). Rescued from destruction and brought into divine safety of healed, restored to health, complete and whole.

Death in Greek is separation from the life (salvation) of God forever by dying without first experiencing death to self to receive HIS gift of salvation.
Here are the four benefits of Godly Sorrow.

□ Godly sorrow brings life.
□ Godly sorrow brings repentance a change of mind and thinking.
□ Godly sorrow results in salvation and deliverance from the situation or circumstance.
□ Godly sorrow results in no regret.

There is no benefit to worldly sorrow it leads to death, destruction and separation from God’s intended plan for eternal life for ALL.
