Roaring lion

Resist the devil and he will flee. Satan is described as a roaring lion. The lion wants to destroy and kill you. Satan is also described as the accuser, an angel of light and tempter. The lion will flee if you resist. Satan wants you to doubt your salvation. He wants to steal your joy and peace. He is the accuser of the follower of Christ and brings accusations daily against you.

Satan is no match for the Holy Spirit. The lion leaves when you are strong in the Lord, trusting in HIS mighty power and wearing the full armor of God. Resist the devil and he will flee. He runs away and the peace that passes all understanding will enter in and fill you with joy in the midst of the trial.

What is the full armor of God?

In Ephesians 6, Paul gives us instruction on resisting the devil. Finally, be (1) strong in the Lord and in (2) his mighty power. (3) Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Stand firm with the:
Belt of Truth
Breastplate of righteousness
Gospel of peace
Shield of faith
Helmet of salvation
Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God
Prayer in the Spirit

My brothers and sisters in Christ – take the Word of God with you. Jesus is the Word of God which became flesh. HE is the one who redeemed you from the death and judgement so you can stand before Holy God spotless and without guilt, shame, fear and regret. Jesus died to bring life and imputed HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS to you. HE is the one who rose from the dead. HE is the one who is righteous. HE is the one who gives you peace. Put your faith and hope in Christ Jesus and the salvation which comes through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

The enemy of God is a liar, thief and accuser who desires to kill you. The giver and author of life desires to set you free from the devil’s accusations. HE wants you to wear HIS ROBE of RIGHTEOUSNESS. Put on the full armor of God and resist the devil; he will flee.
