Snake Bite.

Snake Bite

It is the venom that kills, not the snake bite. The venom travels through your bloodstream into your heart which can kill you.

What problem, circumstance or issue is biting you like a snake? It is the venom which kills. The circumstances and problems in your life may be opportunities for others to see Christ in you. Your faith put into action. They can see the snake hanging from your hand. Now they get the chance to see your faith in action as to how you handle the bite. Will it kill you, will it destroy you or will you persevere and still be standing in the end?

As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand. The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.” But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed. The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god. Acts 28:3-6

People can see your problem like a snake hanging off your hand and think that you will die. It is when you shake off the snake and live that others in your family, work, Church and community can see Christ’s love and grace.

Many times the purpose of the problem is for others to observe you with a snake hanging from your hand. It is not about you. It is about others you influence watching you. They may even want you to die. They may even be cursing you. They may be the ones who created the problem.

God will never leave you nor forsake you. HE will protect you even when you deserve the snake bite. You may have caused the snake to bite you. God protects HIS children from the venom of the snake. HE does not always stop you from having a snake dangling from your arm. Problems are part of this fallen world. Greater is HE who is in you than the snake attached to your arm. God is always greater than your problem. The venom of the snake will not pierce your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. You have been given a new life which exists in Christ Jesus and the old heart is gone. The new transplanted attitude and heart is transformed through Christ Jesus. The venom of the world is all around you, however you are protected as a dearly beloved child of God.

Shake off the snake into the fire! You will be standing in the strength of the Lord and watch others change their minds as they see God through your snake bite.
