Threatened people hurt people

The Kingdom of God (the Spirit of God) is a threat to the kingdom of man. Man’s rebellious and sinful nature causes us to want to rule the world. Ever since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, man has wanted to be self-reliant and independent. With the fall of man to the disobedience of God, man believes he is god and is in control. Our disobedience is expressed in our actions and rebellion against the ways of God.
The Israelites wanted a King like the other nations. Samuel told them they have a King – God is the King. But they wanted a man to rule over them as a King. So King Saul became the first King of Israel.
King Saul was threatened by David. This threat spawned jealousy and envy in the spirit of Saul. He was threatened that he would lose his power and control of his Kingship. Thus King Saul wanted to destroy David’s life. David, however, loved King Saul and wanted to honor him with respect and obedience, yet King Saul spent years trying to end David’s life.
Righteousness is a threat to wickedness. Light is a threat to darkness. The Spirit of God is a threat to the kingdom of self. Threatened people attack and want to kill. Hurt people want to hurt people. People who have not received the free gift of redemption from sin are closed to the Kingdom of God. Their throne and power is more important than the Kingdom of God. For them to get off the throne means to surrender, and this is viewed as weakness.
Do you want to hurt someone? Are you threatened by someone? Check your heart and see if you are carrying envy and jealousy. Check your heart. There may be someone who is a threat to your kingdom. You may feel that person is going to dethrone you. What comes out of your mouth toward that person will be an indication of your heart toward the situation or person. Are you complaining and critical toward that person?
Envy and jealousy will destroy you. King Saul fell on his own sword. God wants to circumcise your heart and remove any envy and jealousy from your heart. Jesus Christ is the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer of Life. Surrendering your will to God is the only way to get off the throne. Trust God with all of your heart. Place your life as a living sacrifice on HIS alter as a gift to God. Seek the Lord with all of your heart. Seek forgiveness and repentance for your jealousness and envious heart.   Allow the Lord to get on the throne to rule over your life. Allow HIS Spirit to guide and direct you today.
This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad. Rejoice in the Lord always. Let me say it again – rejoice in the Lord always! Let your gentleness be evident to all the Lord is with you.
