We Are Not To Be Quiet
We Are Not To Be Quiet
9 I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out, as you, O Lord, well know.
10 I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart; I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power.
I have told everyone in the great assembly of your unfailing love and faithfulness. Psalms 40 NLT
Here is a statement which is not backed by the Word of God, “Always remember to preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words.”
The above statement can be a license to lead you to think and believe that your WORDS are not important. It could lead you to believe that you should be quiet about the Word of God. Stop speaking the Word of God and talking about your healing or your delivery from addiction, pride and selfishness. Stop speaking life-giving words of HOPE. Especially stop speaking about the Resurrected Jesus. Stop proclaiming that Jesus is Lord. Stop speaking boldly the salvation, freedom, blessings and victory you have in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus was not quiet. HE was bold. Jesus told us to go into the Nations and teach, preach and proclaim the Gospel and make disciples. HE did not say this was only for Priests and Ordained Ministers.
If you found the cure for cancer, would you be quiet? If you have been redeemed, restored, justified and made Righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ, are you going to be quiet?
God spoke creation into existence. Peter spoke to the cripple at the temple: “In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, walk!” Jesus said speak to the mountain and it will be moved into the sea. Your words are an indication of what you believe. Speak life- giving words which will wake up dry bones and make rivers of living water in a dry desert.
9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
It is out of the abundance of your heart that you speak. The tongue has the power of life and death. The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life. The enemy of God wants you to be quiet.
Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. Matthew 10:32
