What are you to learn through the ten plagues?

What is God trying to show you through the ten plagues in Egypt?

So that you will know that I, the LORD, am in this land. I will make a distinction between my people and your people. Exodus 8:22-23

So you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth. Exodus 9:14

I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. Exodus 9:17

God made a distinction between the people of Egypt and the Hebrews. With the ten plagues there was total darkness, yet the Israelites had light. When the hail came and pummeled the land and stripped the trees and fields of everything, it did not hail on the Israelites. The plague on the livestock and the flies did not inflict the Israelites. God made a distinction between HIS people and those who were against HIM (the enemies of God).

What is God’s purpose for you?

I have raised you up for this very purpose to show you MY power so that MY name will be proclaimed in all the earth. God wants to be worshipped. HE wants you to let go of the idols that hold you in slavery and bondage. HE shows HIMSELF to you through his people in love, mercy, power and forgiveness. HE shows HIMSELF to you through HIS creation. He is a jealous God and calls you an adulterer if you are having an affair with another god.

Go today and proclaim in all the earth (home, business, school and church) that Jesus is God (Lord). Let HIS light shine in you as it did for the Israelites. So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days. No one could see anyone else or leave his place for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived. Live today as the redeemed child of the risen Christ Jesus. Proclaim the truth of the Gospel to the Jews and Gentiles.

What name are you proclaiming? Here are some names: greed, love of self, love of sports, love of business and self-righteousness. Proclaim MY NAME by seeking the Lord and HIS RIGHTEOUNESS. You are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You have been redeemed and made complete in Christ Jesus and because you are in Christ Jesus you have no condemnation.
