What are your wants?

What are your wants?

The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want.

Your sinful nature that entered through Adam caused you to want and desire. It caused you to look to the world, self, and others for your provision rather than trust God. You want to be independent of God. You want to make your own decisions. You don’t need help. You know what to do and where to go. You will find the way without asking for instructions. You are confident in self. You want for the future, for selfish gain, for your family – income, recognition, independence, success, food, shelter and no pain.

What is it that you want?

What does it mean to not want? Jesus was called the Good Shepherd. HE wants you to build HIS KINGDOM here on earth. HE will lead you to water and fertile soil for food. HE knows the way. Only when you are broken of your want can the Shepherd lead you.

When the Lord is your Shepherd you will not want. He is your total provision. He is your all. He takes away your wants. What would it feel like to not want? It is perfect rest without worry. He wants for you to stop wanting and trust HIM, because He will lead you and direct you to build HIS KINGDOM.

These are some of the benefits of having the Lord as your Shepherd. He makes you lie down in green pasture. He leads you by the still waters. He restores your soul. He guides you on paths of righteousness. He protects you from your enemies. He anoints your head with oil. Goodness and love will follow you. You will dwell in the Shepherds house forever.

What do you want? His want is to build the Kingdom of God.
