What does God tell you to show HIM as proof you can be trusted?
This is powerful. Do you believe in the Bible or do you believe the Bible? Here is what Jesus said in the book of John. Here is another “if, then” statement found in the fifteenth chapter of John. Jesus says, “If you obey my commands, (then) you will remain in my love.”
Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, (then) he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.” John 14:23-24
If you obey God’s teaching you are showing you love God. God then will make a home with you.
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father (then) I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed (if) you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.” John 15:9-17
So what is it that you have to do to receive the blessings of getting whatever you ask in HIS name? Obey God by laying down your life through love. How is it going? What is your measurement of love? Is your love selfish or giving? Is your joy complete?
