What is your Jordan River?

What is your Jordan River?

The Jordan River needed to be crossed to enter into the Promised Land.  The Israelite generation which came out of Egypt had died in the desert because of their disbelief, whining, and complaining. Now it is their children who are preparing to cross the Jordan. The Jordan River is at a dangerous high storm water level. The currents are swift which would sweep and kill all who would attempt to cross.
This may be how you feel emotionally toward your current situation or problem. Your circumstance is at storm water levels and it appears that there is no way to cross to the other side or go through it.  You want to give up, go back, blame or find some way rather than going through the problem, situation or circumstance.
And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.  Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.'” Joshua 3:7-8

The Lord is the one who exalts so that HE will be GLORIFIED.  Just as David ran toward Goliath while all the armies of Israel were afraid. He wanted everyone to know that there is a God of Israel who will deliver him. David was exalted and victorious yet everyone knew that there was a God of Israel.
The Lord wants you to be exalted by trusting GOD with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength to go through your Jordan River circumstance. You cannot go through the Jordan River circumstance without the Lord’s supernatural Divine assistance.
Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God.  This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites.  See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.  Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe.  And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord-the Lord of all the earth-set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.” Joshua 3:9-13

Joshua was so confident in God, he tells the Israelites that the Jordan River will stop flowing and allow them to cross to drive out the enemy. There are many enemies lingering in your thinking, emotions, and feelings. As you enter into the Promised Land the Lord gives you victory over the enemy of sin, guilt, fear, rejection, doubt, shame, injustice, and performance to gain acceptance in the Kingdom of God.
Trust the Lord and watch HIS MIGHTY HAND deliver you through your Jordan River.
