What is your life preaching?
Each one of us is preaching through our lives. The words which come out of your mouth are your sermon. The way you react to problems and circumstances is a sermon. The way you forgive is a sermon. The way you love those who hate or speak badly against you is a sermon. The way you handle rejection, loneliness, loss, gain, recognition or the lack of recognition, rebuke and discipline is a sermon. The way you handle fear, shame, guilt and past sin in the darkness is a sermon.
Are you preaching Christ or are you preaching Christ crucified?
23We preach Christ (the Messiah) crucified, [preaching which] to the Jews is a scandal and an offensive stumbling block [that springs a snare or trap], and to the Gentiles it is absurd and utterly unphilosophical nonsense. Corinthians 1:23(Amplified Bible)
If you are only preaching Christ your preaching is empty. Christ crucified is the redeemed life. The just (Jesus Christ) for the unjust (you guilty of sin and the penalty of death) is atoned by the blood of the Lamb. Jesus Christ is the (sacrificial) Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world which is the sin of rebellion against Holy God. The guilty life of sin is redeemed and exchanged for the life of righteousness in Christ Jesus as a child of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Wow! This Christ crucified is something to celebrate. It is offensive to many and seems like nonsense to some, but to Christians it is truth. Your life in Christ justified and made right with God through the blood of the Lamb erased all your sin past, present and future. Your welcome into the Kingdom of God causes you to want to share the freedom and victory with others. Your joy shines through as you put on HIS ROBE of Righteousness.
Walk today in the freedom of Christ crucified. Let your light so shine before men that they see peace, joy, freedom, love, and forgiveness in Christ crucified.
