1 I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from?
2My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip-he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you-the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm-he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121
You are going to experience disappointment in your life. Joseph endured several disappointments, the first of which was being sold into slavery by his brothers. Another was his false prison sentence.
Joseph learned lessons while he was in prison. Joseph learned to not put confidence in man. He learned his hope comes from the Lord. Joseph learned to trust the Lord.
Joseph learned about God’s divine path of providence. God is never early nor late. He is always right on time.
What is your prison experience? You will have disappointments in your prison experience. The Lord may not move when you think He ought to and you will become discouraged. The Lord wants you to move toward HIM. You will reach out for human help and find that human help falls short. When times of testing come, you will become discouraged, whine and complain, or you can do like Joseph and stay the course for the glory of God and serve Him faithfully.
Remember, even though you may feel forgotten, you will never be forsaken by the Lord. The Lord will visit you in prison and He will set you free in HIS divine time!
Joseph knew the Lord was with him! Know your help comes from the Lord.
