Who are you?
“Helping People Fulfill God’s Plan For Their Lives Through Business”
Who are you?
If you asked the Apostle John who he is, his answer would be: “I am the disciple who Jesus loved.”
What is your perspective about Jesus’ love for you?
What is your self-talk? Who do you say that you are?
John refers to himself this way four times in the Book of John instead of using his name. He calls himself “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” John identified with Jesus’ love for HIMSELF. He knew, received and understood God’s love for himself. HIS name was not as important as calling himself “the disciple who Jesus loved.” He knew his identity and found his identity in Christ.
This is not to say that Jesus did not love the other disciples. It is merely John’s perspective and understanding about his identity in Jesus Christ. Notice John does not use his name but “whom Jesus loved.”
23 One of His disciples, whom Jesus loved [whom He esteemed and delighted in], was reclining [next to Him] on Jesus’ bosom. John 13:23 AMP
26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son.” John 19:26 NIV
7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. John 21:7 NIV
20 But Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved, following-the one who also had leaned back on His breast at the supper and had said, Lord, who is it that is going to betray You? John 21:20 NIV
Know, believe and receive all of God’s love for you.
Know your identity in Christ. Say in your heart and even out loud, “I am the disciple who Jesus loved.” Speak this, believing and receiving all God’s love for you.
Speak and say in your heart and out loud, I am the disciple who Jesus loved. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. There is no condemnation in me because I am in Christ and HE is in me.
