Your actions reveal your faith

Your actions reveal your faith

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
James 2:17 17

The story is told of a group of farmers who needed rain for their fields and crops. The drought had been long and painful so they got the community together to pray. Only one person brought an umbrella to the prayer meeting – a little girl of action.

Your actions are a reflection of your faith. The little girl bringing the umbrella is a reflection of her faith.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Your actions will show someone around you what you believe. God doesn’t respond to my faith, HE responds to the actions of my faith. God responds to the actions (doing) because the action is what HE can see. The action is an indication of the heart of belief. Faith without works is dead. Your actions of obedience reflect the amount of faith.

Genesis 22:9 When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied.
12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

Abraham’s faith was revealed by his obedience. God knew Abraham’s faith by his actions.

Go today and let your actions reveal your faith in the resurrected Christ Jesus. Go love others by being Love as Christ has loved you.
