Your Enemy

Your Enemy

Be careful to identify the enemy correctly. Your enemy is not other people. Your enemy may be your own thinking. Fear, doubt, blame, regret, shame, loneliness, unforgiveness and discouragement are weapons of the enemy. With God, the victory has been won.
With God you will gain the victory, and HE will trample down your enemies.
 Psalm 60:11-12
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:11-12
WHAT LEADS to strife (discord and feuds) and how do conflicts (quarrels and fightings) originate among you? Do they not arise from your sensual desires that are ever warring in your bodily members?
You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask. [Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention [when you get what you desire] is to spend it in sensual pleasures.
You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God. Or do you suppose that the Scripture is speaking to no purpose that says, The Spirit Whom He has caused to dwell in us yearns over us and He yearns for the Spirit [to be welcome] with a jealous love? James 4:1-5
Your love affair with the Lord will conquer the enemy of fear, doubt, blame, shame, guilt, regret, unforgiveness, loneliness and discouragement. Seek first the Kingdom of God and HIS righteousness and the enemy will be defeated right in front of you. Sing a song of praise, count your blessings out loud, speak to the Lord out loud the Word of God, quote HIS scripture back to HIM, and let HIM know you are grateful and thankful for all HE has done for you. Watch the enemy tuck his tail and run. The victory is in the Lord Jesus Christ. HE is risen and alive. HE defeated death. Your victory is in Christ Jesus, not in your circumstance. Arise and walk in the victory; the enemy has been defeated.
